You could call the IRS and ask them. Or, get an insured tax advisor. I have used TurboTax for the past decade without issues. They have options for an advisor and/or audit insurance, if you are still nervous about your tax situation.
Hi. Sub pay is definitely taxable income. Ask an Accountant. There was another thread about this. The person got hammered with taxes.
The simple answer is file your taxes the same exact way you did last year with the w2. The w2 includes everything - Yes sub pay is taxable. Don't forget to also include unemployment income from the state.
I would spend $60 of your Sub for a copy of Turbo Tax or $180 or so for an accountant if you’re uncomfortable doing it yourself.
Do I paying the taxes on my suberance? I want to make sure I am doing the needful.
SUB is not subject to PAYROLL taxes. This doesn’t mean it’s not subject to federal taxes. The IRS page very clearly states that payments received from a company funded plan are taxable as wages and reported on a W2.
correct. So it is not supposed to be included in box 1 with wages.
They told me that it is NOT taxable income
To the person that responded "geez not this again" you don't have to be rude! I am looking for help. My sub pay is in my taxable income and it is DD and shouldn't be in box 1. Thank you
Geez not this again. It is taxable just no social security
No because sub pay is not supposed to count as taxable income
