Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

COVID-19 Death

One of my fellow worker dies last Friday because of COVID-19. He used to work in NYC 240G office. Not even a single communication or condolences from the hierarchy of CIOs (4 of them for this department) and our CEO.

No value for human life ? I am really flabbergasted 😮

Oh please, the company no longer acknowledges 911 anymore. This once was a company that you could be proud to work for. Now it's not impressive to say you are employed there. What's left behind are the ones that couldn't get a job in the field.

First I am very sorry for the lose of your friend. It’s simply terrible when someone you work with passes. It’s truly a loss.
While I’m not the biggest fan of BK we did lose someone (it doesn’t sound like the same person) and there was a note.
It didn’t say COVID but I believe it was.
I understand how hurtful it feel but I have seen emails.
Again- sorry for your loss.

Grow up and don't use tragedies to further your dislike of the company.

Sadly, this person maynot be the only person who passes because of this. When the time is right, the co will do what is right for all.24

Nonsense to both of the last 2 comments. Maybe the covid cause is part of privacy, but not the death. Senior people could have taken 30 seconds to send a note "it is with deep sadness ... ". It is those senior guys who are doing the disrespecting. It's not evil, just callous and selfish. The proper conduct is called 'leadership', something nonexistant in this dump.

They can’t do what you are expecting due to medical privacy

My deepest sympathy for Your friend and his family.

I’ve never seen such a death or any death handled by condolences from a hierarchy of 4 CIOs and a CEO. These are always announced by a close coworker, family or a friend of family, generally followed with an obituary and information on how to pay respects or donate.

It is sad that our coworker has passed, but to make it into an evil act actually disrespects your coworker even more.

My deepest sympathy for this man's family, friends and coworkers.

Far be it for me to ever defend mgmt. In this situation though, due to privacy, they may have consulted family who requested this not be publicized within the company. It's possible the coworker has family members who also work for BNYM.

In these circumstances, I ask everyone on this thread not to make light of the seriousness and sadness this virus has brought to us all.

Take care and be well.

I'm very sorry about your friend, they won't mention it because they don't care. They lay great people off and don't give an F what happens to them. Management hear is complete trash.

Really sorry to hear that he died, and that no one in upper management seemed to care
