Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

End the hiring freeze

We are losing TMs left and right and we are left alone to suffer the consequences and pick up the slack. Don’t understand why they are not hiring?!

holy sh– yes.
We have TWO cashiers for the last two hours of store hours and ONE prime shopper from 7;30 til 9'30.
WE ARE FAILING WE ARE CRASHING.
THIS PACE IS NOT SUSTAINABLE. I GOTTA GET THE F— OUT.

I would just say that each store is different and they go through phases. Our store was not hiring for a bit and eventually when we look like absolute garbage on enough visits from bigwigs magically we hire more people. We've actually hired more people during covid that any other time in my 12+ year tenure at WF. We had to because many Tm's we already had employed refused to show up and also we just started Amazon shopping so we had to hire that whole crew. Raise the issue with your ATL, TL etc. They will hire as needed. bureaucracy moves slow.

Sometimes there are issues with productivity though. For example, Mr vice president may visit several similar stores and 5 of 6 of them are performing well with 10 Tm's on grocery then he visits your store with 12 TM's on grocery and nothing is getting done he may say you don't need to hire you need to coach who you have to be better or get them gone.

There may also be other issues like when the deliveries arrive/if there is an over night crew etc.
