Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Will BOA offer permanent wfh?

Curious what everyone’s thoughts are on this since many other companies have recently made the decision to let their employees wfh permanently.

No. The leadership is fully committed to get rid of WFH. Fact that they had to do an emergency expansion just annoys them. They will bring everyone back as soon as possible.

@7csk+16rMCQhr Why would anyone go over to Wells at this time? Have you seen their boards lately? It's on FIRE! Layoffs scheduled for 8/25, September, and October. I've been having a fun time reading their boards vs. ours.

Antiquated thinking in the C-suite. Lots of Charlotte folks moving over to Ally, Wells Fargo, etc. for better working environment, better benefits, etc.

I brought it up to my manager that when we return back to the office, I want the option of working from home one day a week. Our scorecard metric has been green and it shows that working from home is effective. I want to be able to continue that when we return to the new normal.

If you've been around long enough, there were people in leadership levels able to WFH but that got stopped several years ago; , many left BOA for WF because WF was offering WFH.

They were leaders in flexible work options 15-20 years ago. CB has a particular hard on for people being in the office so while she’s around it won’t happen.

I don’t think so. Moynihan has been clear while we are effective now at home he thinks we are more productive in the office. I’m hoping we at least keep a flexible schedule of 2 or 3 days at home.

Unfortunately, they spent too much money on corporate real estate deals in 2019. There are also very controlling leaders in Administration, Technology, HR, and most of the other lines of business.

Even though all the work was done in a timely fashion, they will claim this time away from the office was counter productive.

Even if this suggestion was added as an option on the Engagement Survey, it will fall upon deaf ears. They will push more stringent location strategies in 2021 in an attempt to have more resign instead of layoffs.

Things are quiet now on this front, but 2021 will be a different ball game, unfortunately.

Not with the current leadership, they are stuck in the old ways.
