At the time this article was written things were completely different. BNY had circulated an email asking their tech workers to volunteer for an "elite" team of 150 people to finish up all of the "greenfield" conversion work. The email detailed how this was going to be a pilot of a program to "streamline" the tech side of the business; the writing between the lines was that if you weren't volunteering for this team you were subject to layoffs.
They sold it like it was some kind of great honor, but literally said in the email that you'd be spending 75% of your waking hours working with no overtime or any incentive to do this (besides simply keeping your job). Any of the 150 positions that weren't filled by US employees were to be filled by contractors in India.
Then Covid hit and we never heard anything else about this reatarded idea.
Suffice to say, any decisions cooked up by executives in the BNY tech organization are total id!ot!c garbage.
why not outsource to, idk, the United States ?

the article is 6 months old - nonetheless, nobody can figure out how this place operates since they actually did layoffs in india as well last year. I don't get it.
India resources a smart on paper but c-ap. That place is so corrupt and there are preferred suppliers so work it out. Poland is a better place to outsource to.
