Those that left feel the uncertainty of what lies outside EM. Those who stays feel the uncertainty of what lies within... end of the day they are all the ranks and files who suffer whichever side of the coin u are . The only winner is the Mgmt ... it’s like watching the show of gladiators fighting . Those who are leaving fate has been decided ... those stay behind fate will be decided ... so pot stop calling the kettle black bec all are black . All in the same Sh*t . Take a leaf from the Reddits who United together and screwed the institution fund mgrs ... United we stand divided we fall...

6 Tier 1 BP for engineers to make sure you don’t become MLRP

  1. During zoom calls, make sure you use the Vision 2025 or We are XOM background
  2. Praise your peers or manager in meetings or zoom calls. Can be “I like your background or you sound energetic today” - shows your presence!
  3. Team up with your peers or direct reports and send each other “well done” emails and copy your bosses! - shows you acknowledge good work! It’s the same play as the Survivor show.
  4. In meetings, say things like “when I was in the field, I saw this ......”. doesn’t matter the content as the supervisors won’t know anyway. You need to let your boss know you went out to the field!
  5. Volunteer to take minutes. Nobody reads it anyway but it shows you got initiatives.
  6. About this time (ranking period), during your 1-1, tell your boss you did this and that for your peer and helped him. Puts you one up during ranking time.

I have practiced this (from a wise man). It works!! I should be safe for the next 3 years.

Management ppl don’t even know how to do LPSA. We are overloaded. Damn tiring, waiting for incidents to happen only when someone is exhausted and lost focus.

Really dont see how some supervisors are adding value. Everyone already so overworked liao, still want to waste our time by asking stupid and useless questions as if they got daily question quota to meet. Pay them so much for what? How to become a more efficient workforce like that? If you are management level, pls use your brain before asking any questions and think about whether those questions contribute anything at all.

toxic comments by WORKER BEES towards fellow suffering WORKER BEES just goes to show why FTs management can parachute in and sh– all over our heads. collectively or individually, we just need to grow some balls to either speak out or move out. smlj hi-po can eat or not...

apes strong together but the apes just can't come together. EM is full of apes that step on carcasses to climb. shame on all of us.

With the sh– work that they did for CDU 1/2, I’m not surprised they are resigning. Entitlement too high but just a small pawn in the whole

Fake news! Don't be so desperate to remove competition, can? Smh

Either you spend your VL and leave earlier or you encash the days unused; read up Employment Act. AWS is prorated upon termination of service; read up your letter of offer. Whether AWS is still 3 mths idk, and yes, make sure last day is after the 15th to get max amount.

Today is voting day for Chemicals to have a Union
If the result says GB win then i will be very suspicious abt the whole process
Its Chemicals long overdue time to have our own Union now or never ever again if it fails this time
And no need to fight to struggle anymore in the future
Whoever works here will be just slaves serving the bloody masters

8% sustained over 3 years will effectively weed out the bottom ~25% of the PA CL-band group.
So all NSI / NI and some Good will be gone by Jan 2023.
But by then, the current Good will be the new bottom NI/NSI (assuming a static seriatim, similar to that of a reactor’s catalyst dumping process).

By next week, you will get clarity on 8% of NSI, so I hope you are updating your resumes while working on your PADP. Headhunters are swarmed with ExxonMobil employees resumes- so make sure yours stand out on both fronts. Won’t be good to get PIP while not getting any job offers.

Please apply 80-20 rule at work. Spend 80% of your time looking for a better job and 20% of your time working on your base load.

After all this year’s assessment is really more of an assessment of the impression you left on the rankers vs real work done. There’s not going to be too much objectivity, so if you are not well liked, it’s good luck to you.

Just accept your fate (PIP or slave harder) if you choose to stay. World moves on with or without you. Sad but true.

Think it’s well said - that many in the senior management position are not Singaporeans and therefore, won’t make a decision that will treat the workers in a fair manner. Funny thing is they won’t pull this sort of stunt in US or in Europe.

The remainders are safe for now but a few more rounds of 8% NSI and who’s left?

For the RERs especially, who have been retrenched.
Understand this: You have been re-employed (by virtue of the RER terminology), not “re-contracted”.
Why then should you be robbed of your compensation rights and benefits?

Depending on their years of service and number of months to retirement (whichever is lesser), the others will be eligible for up to 25 months (max) re compensation.
But for RERs, you get only $20K (max)? Your retirement age ought to be 67 years (per what’s stipulated in your re-employment contract - until the Govt raises it even further down the road). Duh!!

For those unfairly treated, you may consider to check www.tal.Sg for some useful info. This is under MOM. Seems two possible options, 1. Email your case regarding retrenchment benefits to MOM at mom_lrdw@mom.gov.Sg, and/or 2. file a wrongful dismissal claim with TADM.

Time to say the favorite line - who do you vote for?!

There’s just a lax labors laws (if any at all), which doesn’t protect the Singaporean workers’ rights. Look at treasurer’s and manufacturing’s senior mgmt in Singapore - full of expats! All of them are talents? I can’t see how exceptional they have been, and not of them are visible too, but they probably can shout #weareexxonmobil louder than me and you.

Media said we will be less reliant on foreigners, they brunt most of the layoff. That is totally opposite in EM sg, still see them around relaxing daily and most layoff are locals. what's going on?

DW needs to continue paying dividends and keep costs low to get his annual RSUs. Workers’ morale is not on his score card. Therefore, complain and whine all you like - that’s not going to change matters.

Suggest you spend time lobbying to join WIN or #WAEM change committee to improve your standing, instead of crying here.

I wonder how does it feel, to work in an environment where your colleagues and “friends” around you, are all competing against you, with even a few as potential back-stabbers? Well, we will know now / soon, if that’s not already happening.
Everyone for himself, his job, career prospects and his rice bowl.
Imagine a group of soldiers or athletes running away from a pack of attacking African wild dogs and no one wants to be the last man running !!!
The fellows in your group would even purposely trip you, as a sacrificial pawn - just to keep themselves alive and continue running !!!
That’s the way it will be working in EM from now on, as every PA cycle draws near, only to repeat itself, all over again, the following year.
So I ask: How long can one last? You need all the mental and physical stamina to stay alive and not be the last few in the pack that will end up being eliminated by the recurring PIP process!
That’s sad. Nothing to look forward to, no matter how high you climb.

No more team work , no more bondings. Whisper at bosses ears, back stack your peers So that you look better. This is the truth about EM value nowadays. And these type of hypocrites will survive in EM. Do your LPSA before you kana back stack by your teammates unkowningly.
