We shd not slam the left behinds . They are just one of us ... like the animal farm... those need to be Shame are the pigs (Mgmt). They have a biased deal whereby head they win tail u lose ! Whether the Mgmt is laid off more of retirement) or not , they get fat pay check... that’s why a titanic like Xom is sinking .... this crisis just expose how weak the leadership is .... everyone can claim
To be a good leader , the real test of leadership is during crisis ! Ask ourselves this question, during this crisis what has our leaders sacrifice ? Nothing ! They enrich themselves by protecting the dividend citing it’s for the sake of shareholders ! But they are the shareholders , holding lots of vested shares ! They don’t come forth like SQ to volunteer pay cut , but protect their pays and sacrifice rank and files .... greed to the optimum at display ! Those left behinds , ask yourselves is this the company u still want to slog for .... remember the show titanic ? You need to choose whether to be Rose or Jack .... good luck

Local executive(s) who are given the package get max 25 months, due to their service tenure and at least 六十万 or higher, depending on their last drawn salary.
On top of that, they could also liquidate their EM stock options awarded to them over the years ... amounting to a few hundred K more!
Their overall separation compensation could be at least 百万 or more, depending on their age (non-RER, before 62), last drawn salary and the amount of company stock options that they hold.

Us peasants leh? Eat porridge and soya sauce lor!

No incremental for two years, at least.
No promotion for two years.
Bonus to be cut this year, and the 5% LTSA.
Another round of PIP, not as significant as last year, but it is around the corner.
For those who survived, good luck with more work load but less workforce.

Darren wood ‘s and his execs made all the strategic mistakes almost running the company aground . Conveniently blame it on Covid ( usual style of all execs and Mgmt . Claim when there is credit , blame on other “uncontrollable” factors when things go bad ) . His recent KPIs were getting Xom out of DJ after close to 100yrs, executed unprecedented layoffs on employees. Yet , he and his cronies are still around ... continuing his song and dance . Totally not being accounted for ! Why? Because chairman and CEO are one person! For the bad leadership , he and his cronies put all the rank and files under the bus to save his own skin ... continue to keep his fat pay check and dividend ... He and his execs have no qualms putting those loyal employees out of jobs jeopardise the livelihood and dependents.... There are no executives being held accountable ! Those executives that left are given retirement and fat paycheck again. The whole entire system is corrupted ! What corporate governance are we talking here ? Accountability and consequences seemingly applied only to rank and files , all executives are immune ! It’s basically an Animal farm at play !

Everyday you wake up, look at the team and think who is above and below you - who will drop you down the rank and risk you being in PIP...

If they are above, nod smile and then backstab them and exploit their weakness ... whisper to the boss privately ...

If they are below, they can always go lower so step on them, get them annoyed, give them a lot of busy work and also backstab ...

Remember do extra work for high visibility like WIN and show CARE now. It’s important to start healing ...

Take a look at glassdoor reviews filter by Singapore location.. many suspicious 4 - 5 stars review randomly posted few days apart. You can easily tell which are the fake ones.

Unbelievable, an establishment that emphasis inclusivity practice different standards to lay off employees.
Batch 1 employees were humiliated as non performers, forced them to resign despite their contributions and consistent performance

Batch 2 employees received handsome package without being subjected to such humiliation

What is going to happened to Batch 3 employees undergoing appraisal soon?

Country Manager, HR.. be aware of karma ...
All employees play their role in their years of services and do not deserve to be stampeded by your dirty foot.

As more contact engineers resign, and once the total headcount falls below the minimum threshold, the company can and will start re-hiring again.
Campus hires, or experienced hires - all are welcomed!
I don’t think anyone (or group) can hold the company ransom lah.

Heard there was a unit that got one technical contact retrenched, the other three contacts resigned on the same day, wow, bravo guys. This is right way to demonstrate #teamwork, and tell those tone deaf mgt that we are not happy.

How much can you save when you use PIP tactically to remove employees? Many of us will volunteer to go if EM pay us severance packages . Your reputation has gone to the sewage drain. I have no pride to tell others I work for EM.

just my 2 cents after seeing repeated NMPT rant. i come from a nmpt background before progressing to mpt.

tbh, not all technicians are valuable and competent.
maybe around 40% are competent and with good attitude, 30% who are okay and 30% leechers.
And these leechers is indeed a constraint on overall resources.

and with the lack of aptitude test in the recruiting phase (unlike in the past), the standard declines further. But that I guess is inevitable as it is difficult to recruit ppl into this industry in SG.

But i'll say its a leadership problem, be it the lack of training, nurturing and coaching of these technicians.

Or even down to the lack of heart to give a C or D grading. (I feel this does affect the rest of the hardworking folks coz even the leechers can get a B, where is the purpose or motivation to do well?)

anyway, thats beside the point and intent of this thread.

all i can say is, move on if you dont feel happy here.
if you are indeed capable, opportunities are out there. :)

This is called GI lah.
Refining NMPTs are unionised right, and SCP NMPTs are not.
So no plans to touch the former group, as that would turn out into long battles with the union.

But still, heads need to be rolled across the whole organization, MPTs as well as NMPTs. So how liddat?

Can Refining NMPTs fill the void left at SCP ? They can certainly be re-trained. Look, a column is a column, and likewise heat exchangers, reactors and GTGs too!
