@2ant, what I said (@2eux) is true. How can you tell me my post isn't true when I personally witnessed the recruiting efforts? My company could not find qualified local candidates, white, black or any other race. Maybe you should re-read the Wells Fargo post and my post as well. The situation mentioned in the post is not good. but it doesn't mean it's not true.
@2uex, that is simply not true. There are minorities who graduate from top schools. They go out to Europe because that's what they want.
Some say Charlie is way off base, but he isn't. Working in financial services for many years I watched my company go to South America, Europe, and Austrailia to look for talent because they could not fill the openings with anyone local, minority or otherwise. We were criticized for the lack of minorities in our company, but there were none to be hired. His comments have a real ring of truth to them, as bad as it may sound. What, nobody can handle the truth anymore?
What hiring Lester again doesn’t count????
Everyone agrees that India got bigger numbers when it comes to coder BECAUSE they can produce software engineers in 3 months' time BUT if you see the number of companies put to end like Boeing - Good luck to those who think India can help. If the company wants to be grounded then the choice is yours.
In the US people study hard to get a degree but companies look for experience folks and skills kept dying. BUT in India 3-month-old engineer who barely knows the world around him writes 7-10 years of experience in their Reaume. Now no one is stupid enough understanding why companies get grounded!
Everyone who gets hire in India must be interviewed by US based team and interviewer should not be Indian.
Yeah Charlie is waaaay off base with those comments. There is PLENTY of minority talent here. He just refuses to see it. The financial industry is so gung-ho right now on fintech and automation. Its all about coding jobs, learning Python and Java, implementing scripts to automate tasks as much as possible. Charlie thinks that there's a shortage of minorities that know how to do those types of jobs. Its just not true. Minorities know how to code, or can be trained to code as well as anyone else out there. He is simply being biased. He wants you to believe this nonsense so he can then convince you that he needs to outsource all of these good paying jobs to India. That way he can spend less money on his workforce.
Charlie is part of the problem, not part of the solution
He's a racist, pompous a–. We're always in the news for bad press and he just added fuel to it. It's embarrassing.
Wow that was a pretty bold statement coming from the top and very unprofessional imo. Am I surprised by this? Not really. It def not a good representation for WF so am curious to see how this affects their stock etc.
