Not fired, not quit, but laid off?
Most people are asking what they can do to avoid it. I'm asking the opposite.
Someone's going to ask "why not just quit?"
Because why should I? The current culture is not my fault. I'm better off collecting a paycheck until the hammer drops and I get 60 days plus PTO.
Then I have a perfect excuse for vacating my role (being laid off sounds better than leaving for fear of layoffs), and will allow me to take a very brief breather to recollect myself before trying again somewhere else.
My guess is that there's no sure way to accelerate being laid off, but it never hurts to ask.
