Dress Code

I wonder who the myopic hall monitor is who thought, in the middle of a period of the lowest morale any of us have ever seen, that a new dress code would be a good idea. We're hemorrhaging team members, and these id–ts are concerned about someone's t shirt?

Again, globalized dress code for the sake of being on the same page. I’ve had to take a lip piercing out in 2011 when I was hired because the stl at the time didn’t allow them. 2 years later our new stl did. After that person left the only thing allowed was a nose stud. Our dress code has always been a sh– show and subject to region and individual store team leader whims. Sorry you habe to take your piercings out. If you’re that committed to them find another job. I realize I sound like an a– but moaning about this won’t do anything as the shots have already been fired.

What does it hurt, team leader, if I wear clothes in which I'm comfortable? And the stupid a– dress code prohibits more than band shirts. It prohibits clothing with any printing on it, including vendor t shirts, and facial piercings, which many of us had when we were hired. Again, what does it hurt to allow people to be comfortable at work? Happy team members are more invested in the quality of their work than those whose every move is micromanaged. I shouldn't have to explain this to a team leader.

As a team leader I can attest that this has been in the works for around 2 years. The lawsuit over BLM gear just finally lit a fire under global to pursue it. We would have occasional meetings where we were told to expect a new, globalized dress code in the future. Another thing they are trying to figure out is a globalized time and attendance policy as some regions do a point system and others don’t. This has been in the works far before amazon. Honestly the dress code is pretty reasonable. Who cares if you can’t wear your favorite band shirt?

If the TMs pushing to wear the BLM clothes dropped it this would not have happened. You can support the BLM movement without wearing a shirt or mask with BLM on it doesn't really accomplish anything anyway. Take it as another hint that WFM\Amazon dont actually care about the things they claim they do. Wearing the BLM gear wasn't changing anything anyway but people up top definitely didn't want it worn in stores.

If they provide me a work uniform and shoes then I’ll follow that dress code. This way I don’t have to buy work clothes anymore or ruin the clothes That I bought

Its only going to get worse they know the long term TM will cotinue to show up and keep things running. They will break the new people and condition them to the way things are now done. Prime is driving WF at this point not the nonsense leadership spews. Your morale means nothing you need money to survive and the higher ups know that.
