Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Things have changed so much

I can't blame Amazon for it all, things were going downhill even before then. But these last three years have solidified everything that was wrong with this place and amplified it so much that Whole Foods is now unrecognizable to me.

Remember when you used to work for a company that cared not only about its employees, but also about the communities it was in? Remember when you used to feel appreciated by your employer? Remember when saying where you work was something you could be proud off?

I remember it all. And I miss it dearly.

JM loves 98% of those changes though. He enjoys giving his employees progressively worse and worse insurance every year. Cutting the raise percentage down every year as well. WF are generally in upscale neighborhoods but don't pay most employees enough to even live in said neighborhoods. Higher ups will say move into a leadership role but moving into a leadership role just means kissing your bosses a– and pretending they are not incompetent. You can either be a boot licker or a friend of somebody in a high up role to advance quickly and be well taken care of. In conclusion be a yes man that's all leadership really wants.

It’s very hard to work for a company that you once loved and were proud to work for, and to have it turn into a place you loathe going to everyday.
It’s very hard to work for a company that you truly believed cared for it’s employees, and to then just completely turn it’s back on those same employees.
