Mellon, proud history. BNY, proud history. Current situation - "esprit de curry"

Wanted to stay out of this, but, from a running a business well perspective, this just proves, that many people running the shop, need to rethink this, of the revolving door of senior people, here today, gone tomorrow. When Mellon was Mellon, as Pittsburgh company, it was a proud company, with a great history, that people were proud to work for. There was an "esprit de corps"( common spirit of enthusiasm among members of a group), that has been lost in the integrations of the various companies and geographical areas. I know, I worked there for thirty, (30) years and experienced it first hand.

Do the people that rated the post by @8odb+18l8WyT2 as negative, realize that this is a zero sum game, e.g State Street gain is BNYM Loss. Blessed Ann, well compensated by Mellon, is taking information, who pays what etc. that will hurt you. Board of Directors, this did not happen when Mellon was Mellon. As a thirty year associate, until the last few years, I have never seen senior people, well compensated, go to a competitor. Over the last two (2) years, we have seen this constantly. Brazen opportunists, making (10) tens of millions of dollars, collecting their paychecks and bailing out. It has been said, wisely, when Mellon was Mellon, the people that ran the business, had actually done the business. Board please promote people from within, that have the relevant years of experience. Crystallized knowledge from a thirty (30) year associate. Don't bring in people, to run very difficult areas that don't even know where the bathroom is. Please do a better job!@

@7wsn+18l8WyT2 /// Thank you for this indeed. It is very much needed. Illustrative of what we are getting as Leaders. Go to a competitor, despite you having been very richly rewarded. Hope our US Intelligence Leaders and Political Leaders, do not, have the same values!

All I can say is, that as a thirty (30) year, operations associate, since retired, the last year I worked, 2019, was the worst. Board of Directors, please do a better job of picking better people to be leaders. We don't need to go into specifics, but they've all left for greener pastures. eg. Wells Fargo. Not good or Right. Please do a better job of picking leaders. Its your job, and please do did better.

On Ann’s town halls since she’s been head of ops, she’s mentioned how she wants companies interviewing former BNY employees to respect where they have come from. In other words she’s saying she wants BNY to be a place other employers will want to hire from. I thought it was weird when she said it and I assumed she was foreshadowing impending layoffs. While that might have been a
True it seems like she meant herself the whole time. Good for you Ann and hope you are happier wherever you are going.

Devastating loss for the firm.
She was the consistent calm thru all the turmoil. Clients loved her.
This one’s gonna hurt.

Todd let this place go to sh-t.

Wonder if the move in August to combine her area with BE's made her start looking around or take offers. Don't blame her..

What a place! What an awful message to staff. I had 3 staff tell me in the last 2 weeks they had been offered jobs. I gave each my best wishes and each stayed because they wanted to help their colleagues through these times. They must be feeling like right id–ts now.

Another rat jumping off a sinking ship.

Another rat that was driving the ship and is now seeking green pastures.

They milked this job for what they could and fortunately they have left the building.

Good riddance.
