Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

You know what gets me?

When I first joined Whole Foods it wasn't just a job to me, I considered it a way of life - and I know so many other people did as well. Then over time things changed, priorities shifted, and what was a way of life became just a career, but it was still good enough. But with the way things are now and no way to progress unless you know the right people, even that element is gone. This is just a job as any other, and an insecure one at that. How did we get here so quickly?

When Gainsharing started to diminish and regional leaders started taking leaves of absences. Then they took out all our warehouse storing and dropped everyone's labor. That's when WFM died and it became another monster. Good luck everyone make your money and get out of there.

Well they took care of Walter even though he ran WFM into the ground. Walter also was included in praising Johns new book which doesn't make much sense.

Things changed when Walter Robb took over as Co CEO. They took most of JM's decision making ability away and gave it to WR. He has a different personality. That's when things changed. Priorities shifted from the stores to Corporate. Less about whether tm's in the stores were happy and all about Corporate.

Amazon didn't help but was already on the downhill long before the sale. WFM may have cared in the early days but its a business simple as that. Stop pretending it was such a noble company. Rampant knepotism and greed are what WFM are all about.
