Annual Merit Increase - Below or Above your Monthly Car Payment?

Other than the year that everyone got 0%, I have never had an annual increase that was less than one monthly car payment before. Until this year! After taxes, my merit increase won't even cover one full tank of gas each month.

Shameful.

My merit increase was less than a quarter per hour. I am old enough to remember when a quarter/hour raise was decent. Now it's a HUGE insult.

When we first started WFH, I would often make a quick sandwich and have a working lunch. Now I make sure I sign myself out for my entire lunch hour. And that is AFTER I make that sandwich. :)

Never again will I give this horrible company an extra minute of my time.

Got my compensation letter today. 0% merit and 20% cut to my bonus, which is already down 40% the last 3 years. Pathetic.

Things are so tough for the company that I'm getting SUB payments through November and BK is getting nothing in return. That's their idea of saving money.

I was happy with my raise. It was just enough for me to afford Disney+ each meet. Thanks Todd & Bridget for providing enough so I can afford to watch The Mandolorian. Maybe next year. if you decide to get rid of that CTOC aka Waste of Money, I might can once again get a membership at Costco.

Raises are garbage as usual but we were already advised they would be 20% less this year. Try dividing $3000 amongst 7 employees . SMH . BNYM needs to get its act together. Where’s all the money usually allotted for holiday parties and other events we haven’t had. Plus you let go how many people

Take this as a sign of what is to come. The bank doesn’t need more workers and doesn’t seem to care about who is or isn’t productive. It’s nothing personal but if you want to be appreciated, working at a bank might not be the right career move for you.

Mine came to 47 cents an hour. Of course, that is based on a normal 2080-hour year. Last year I worked 2800 hours. I said never again, but I'm back to 50+ hour weeks already. And as for the amount of money that managers had to allot, I was given less than $3K to divide up between 5 employees. Spread evening, that's less than a $50 a month increase. I felt embarrassed giving people who are struggling on the "do more with less" regime less than 1% raises.

Yes worst raise ever. My review was an exceeded expectations and my raise for the year also came out to less than a car payment at 13 cents an our increase. It was the push I needed to start job hunting.

Wow y’all got a raise? I didn’t even get one. 1st time in my 8 years with the company. I got exceeded expectations on my review too. How did I exceed expectations but not get a raise?

Mine comes out to $100.73 per month.

Last year I exceeded expectations and got no raise, so who knows how this crazy place works.

I received less than a quarter per hour as well.

And in regards to the gas comment, people still use their cars when working from home. Humans aren't meant to be cooped up in their house 24/7.

My raise came out to $.17 an hour increase. I can’t even go out to a restaurant on payday, and get a burger fries and a drink with my raise. Absolutely pathetic, wonder how much the bigwigs got? Certainly wasn’t 1% or below.

My raise comes out to an increase of 22.6¢ an hour. Really? Not even a full quarter!

What’s this gas thing you speak of? Almost the entire company is working from home...
