Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Unexpected surprise

My wife was offered a huge promotion at the company she works for. Neither of us knew she was being considered but the advantages of it are too good to pass up. It would mean relocating to another country with at least 2-3 months of preparation. She is required to be there in no less than 2 weeks and I will remain here to “close up shop” so to speak. I’m not sure if I should give notice and focus on our move (we are a family of 4) or if I should keep working to pad our bank account for another month. I’m leaning more towards giving notice ASAP. What are your thoughts?

Start with this, expand and get your Manager in the loop ASAP: I can’t begin to imagine what you are feeling for your loss, effective two weeks from today....With my love and deepest sympathy as we remember...

If your kids are in school during the day, and not remote, I would work for another month.

If it were my choice, I would leave. I'd take the gift that has been offered and spend some quality time with family. Time flies by and what an opportunity! And congrats to you that you have the space for such a choice. Best wishes!
