Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Why are there so many existing and ex sh---y employees in these threads?

If you no longer work for the bank, why are you in here commenting about a company you claim to hate so much? Obsessed much ? And for the existing employees, if you don’t like your job ... leave. Simple as that cause all your slacking behavior and sh---y attitudes are bringing everyone else down. I for one am sick of having to do my job and then pick of your slack because you don’t want to work and don’t know your damn job after being here for years. Be grateful you have a freakin job my god

Regarding the people talking about Colonial and wondering about cybersecurity at our bank, there have been some issues. When we first all started working from home at the start of the pandemic, those that had to remote in using their personal laptops had to go through server software that was no longer being supported by the original software company (which was thankfully updated a few months later). And if you remember a few years back when North Korea was ransonwaring various companies, our MySource site was down for about half a day. And when it came back up, I got a "redirect message" anytime I clicked on my original shortcut (because we changed something...or maybe we got ransonwared and paid and then moved to a new platform?). The good thing is that those fake phishing emails that IT puts out to test us now has me paranoid when I even get valid emails. : \

@1ayu+1aMrkgiu, just look at how reckless they are making you type in your ldap credentials a dozen times every hour. You do it without even thinking about what app is receiving your credentials. Now think of how easy it would be to create an intranet site that has a popup that captures that info. Luckily individuals at least aren't supposed to have direct access to servers in GF. And financial transactions probably require an RSA token but still...

When I heard about Colonial I immediately thought what if that happened to BNYM? I have experience on the back end. Are they actually up to date with cyber security? That I don’t know. I know what my gut tells me and we’ll, I’ll leave it at that.

The original poster is an id--t. The reason most people anywhere bring up issues is because the issues need to be known in order to fix them. I'm actually surprised there are so many posts that mention the good things about the company here. I'm NOT surprised to see so people here who are actually care(d) about their role at BNY.
And the company has been wrongsizing, not rightsizing. It will show in the coming years with poor customer service, poor sales growth and less efficiency. Hopefully, their anemic workforce doesn't open us up to vulnerabilities like the Colonial Pipeline had. THAT'S what keeps me up at night when I own so much BK stock.

Since you still got a job in BNY, why are you spending time to read this www.thelayoff.com? I have so much time on my hand now and I can also sc--w up your sleeping time with more comments and stories to read. By the resource of time, you can't beat me now. I just made a decent profit in stock market for 3 years of living expense and I have so much time to play you on this. Bring it on!!!

Working for BNY Mellon was pure he-l. At least now there are sites like this that let us post all those things we've always wanted to say when we were employees.

I’m sure this thread will get a ton of downvotes partially because it’s offensive to the main users of this forum, partly because it’s worded in an aggressive manner, and partly because it’s true, and people don’t like hearing the ugly truth.

While I agree that a ton of people here need to find something better to do, or put more effort into finding another job either internally or externally, the sad truth is that many of the people affected by rightsizing and poor pay are disadvantaged people either because they’re based in Pittsburgh where the bad roles are, don’t have the right skill set, or are so behind in the race for the good roles that it’s basically impossible for them to catch up. I wish them the best as fellow humans and hope that I can always stay ahead of the curve.

Don't reply to this OP. This person comments the same thing on all the peer threads just looking for attention. No substance, just gimmicks.
