Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

I don't understand this

How did we make the list of the best companies to work for once gain? Not only that, we are among the top five big companies to work for.

I am not somebody who hates BOA, I've been happy here for more than a decade. Before, I wouldn't have been surprised at all at this placing. But not anymore.

I've been unhappy with my career and job for the past couple of years. This is not the same company it was before that. Layoffs are now constantly present and if they are not happening the threat remains. Nepotism has also taken over and merit counts for very little anymore. Years and experience are now a liability and increase the chance of being laid off. Tell me, does this really sound like a great place to work?

They don't pay directly, but there is a very clear unwritten understanding that any company "selected" for an award will buy advertising and a table at the awards celebration (pre-pandemic). These awards and lists are MEANINGLESS.

Pretty sure they pay for those awards

Why not just train up and search for another job if you are dissatisfied? Like the rest of the people who work for BAC irrespective of gender, race or color? Is there something else you are trying to obfuscate?

This company doesn't care about what experience you have. It's all about having empty suit white mfers in positions they don't deserve.

Boys and girls, these are the banking industry golden days. Keep an eye on blockchain technology implementations, specifically Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) that could change the financial system. Change will hit the fan. Enjoy the "calm" for now.

Yeah just a media ploy. If you have to jam it down everyone’s throat that it’s the best place to work and beg your people not to leave. You already know the bank is over compensating for what it doesn’t have and how people are mistreated here. Minorities are given management roles with no experience but have the gift for gab. Embarrassing to watch. Been here a long time.

The bank was always good to me and I got a great severance package. Did not have a college degree and made very good $$$. MyWork stalled career, and too many org changes that required educating the boss. Some good managers, some AWFUL. They move on eventually if you can tolerate it. That's life in the big city.

With 45 years of experience I'm sure you bring the best skills to the table. There is a reason you have tolerated 45 years at BAC.

And the editor adds "and Marge, find out who is solvent enough to buy a big fat ad". These "awards" mean nothing. pure revenue play by the media. Don't kid yourselves.

The editor has a big blank white space in his magazine. "Hey Marge and Fred, can you update that best workplace article. That one was popular."

This is one of the worst companies I have ever worked for in my life. They put underqualified white people in management positions and over qualified minorities in low ranking positions. I am not making this up and I have been around some incompetent managers. I don't know how you can run a business like this.

I agree I’ve been here 45 years and it’s been like that as long as I’ve been there. The management have their clicks and take care of them . Some Eve have their wives or husbands working for them and no days a thing. That’s a fact in Jacksonville where they give their buddies packages when they want to leave the company and get a job somewhere else.

Agreed, not a great place to work. I been with bank 11 years by May this year, and it has been a roller coaster... a bad one at that
