Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Covid Variants

Is BM & management so set to bring us into the office that no matter what happens with Covid variants we will not be going back into WFH? In Florida (did I just out another target on my back?) infection rates are rising again. We have new variants Delta and Lambda and Epsilon. COVID-19 vaccines may be somewhat vulnerable to the California “Epsilon” strain of virus recent studies have shown. Are we going to be stuck in the office as BM fiddles while Bank of America burns?

BOA is just trying to get employees to quit or resign by asking them to return from WFH. This is a cold calculated move by an arrogant S-B we have as a CEO. This dude knows this will cause people to leave as it has already done at the branch level. They don't care if top talent leave or resign. This CEO only cares about the stockholders. He could care less if people get sick and die as they return from WFH. He knows you can't do a damn thing to BOA if you get ill due to covid. He has already consulted with legal and knows he has us by our ballz.

I haven't had a year off at home. I'm still a top performer in my filter and on my team. If and when I get forced back into the office I'll make sure my D.P.H. drops down to just high enough to be eligible for over time which is a lot less than my D.P.H. Is now.

Maybe you've had a year off but I'm putting in more hours. Bank is basically getting my commute time at the desk.

I wouldn't worry too much about coming back to the office. The reason I say this is because when several people in your facility test positive for covid , BOA will have to shut down the facility. This is definitely going to happen because the variant is spreading . BOA just needs to realize the WFH option is the best at this time until this pandemic is over. The CEO needs to grow a pair of ballz and tell the stockholders my employees safety comes first.

The bank wants collaboration however they will be segregating the unvaccinated from the vaccinated (in NJ at least). So if the teams aren’t even together what is the difference from WFH. Not to mention this is totally discriminatory and the bank is trying to strong arm employees into taking the vaccine by testing twice a week, masks, etc. I don’t see why the bank is rushing to force us back to the office. They keep saying people want to go back... I want to know who are they talking to bc anyone I know wants to stay home

Post ID: @1dfm+1bLwdMVN they perverted the terminology to fit their narrative and implement the same ancient resolution: corral the workforce. Collaboration and connectivity these days are just a Zoom/IRC section away, or whatever medium we need to employ. There is no need to create these modern day concentration campuses of 'intelligence' to design a product or deliver a service. Just muh 2 centavos, but they own the judicial & got plenty of $$$$, nobody will sue them, they'll nail anybody to the cross.

It's ridiculous that they value "collaboration" over the risk of their employees' health. BM & TM are mental midgets on this. Imagine the lawsuits from families when employees drop in the name of being "connected." Their defense? "Well, we knew it was dangerous, but da---t we needed to have them meeting in person because they were happy the other way and we can't have that!"

Those big bosses like Brian, Cathy, and their minions are in their fancy, isolated office rooms. So they don't care if workers are sitting next to each other exposed to Covid variants.

Surely they will need to rethink this RTO strategy. Ludicrous, especially as revenue and net income are already coming back with the economic recovery and they get far more hours from us with no time-suck commute.

And what's with stuffing everyone into their stupid open floor plan "offices"?

Idiocy.

Meanwhile we are required to respond to an Employee Survey that they do not even read.

I suspect the infection rates, and the related terminal complications, will rise by Oct., as the temp drops and flu season starts. It should be interesting this year because of the confluence of the two viruses: influenza and covid. and the all clear, back to work signal sent by pretty much everybody by then. Plus, the Delta and Epsilon variants seem to be more resistant to the vaccine, in the low 60%ish.
If things go sideways, and people start to drop/croak as usual during these times, the ones who have not gotten the jab will be blamed, mercilessly. Big pharma will push for a boosters, the vaxxers will be up and arms against a few holding out for more information or are hesitant. Companies of course will benefit from this windfall. Older employees who are more susceptible to the virus and abruptly 'depart' will make the life of HR department easier, considering they don't have to RIF as many people and fill out all that paperwork. Let's see if this year we get another check.
