Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Layoffs Over?

Been pretty quiet lately. I'm pretty sure the layoffs are over. If there were any, they'd be posted here. Still so much dead wood. All the talk of cost savings and process improvement, and yet they keep all the headcount. Why don't they offer voluntary severance to older employees?

This forum would know of any significant layoffs. Therefore, it's safe to assume nothing of significance has occurred recently. Anything else is pure conjecture.

It's easier to hide the layoffs as people wfh, you're just unaware of them happening.

Not over. Still ongoing in several groups. There's been lots of departures and retirements, so some groups are able to meet their targets that way. Sept usually brings a fresh round.

It is the same M.O. as when MyWork was trimmed years ago. They order people to return to the office for no perceptible reason and watch thousands quit. Multiply that times severance per person and you have your motive. They truly do not care if they lose better performers as long as the remaining lowest common denominator can keep the company functioning.

Layoffs are never over. I predict we will see something between Sept and Christmas.

There have been layoffs already. They didn't wait for anything. They are done.

Layoffs are over. No way they'd wait "to see who leaves on their own". Those would generally be the better performers, who can easily find employment elsewhere. With layoffs, they can trim the true excess, including the under-performers.

The layoffs will never be over. We all know they are waiting for September when everybody will be back in the office. They want to see how many people refuse to go back and find other employment. Win for the bank no Severance packages and believe me there will be a bunch of people who fall under this category.
