Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

The voice of the employee is irrelevant

Did they ever care about what employees have to say and how to make the workplace better? Never. The voice of the employees never had any importance here.

Forget about expressing ideas, concerns, suggestions. They proved this once again by ignoring the fact that the vast majority of employees would rather continue working from home.

I think they are trying to force vaccinated people to share their status and unvaccinated people to go get vaccinated if they do not want to be isolated in the office and getting tested weekly. If there is another option to share our vaccination status without having to waive our HIPPA rights then I am sure people will be willing to share.

Why separate vaccinated from unvaccinated? Aren't vaccinated folks protected? They go about their business in public, amongst unvaccinated people all day. No masks required. The unvaccinated go about their business too, amongst vaccinated and unvaccinated. They possibly put themselves at risk, but that's it. It's called personal responsibility. The vaccinated have nothing to fear. Separating folks violates the science. Simply ridiculous. The virus is now virtually zero risk of hospitalization or death for anyone. It's time to get over this nonsense.

"Stop asking about WFH and putting it on the survey. I'm tired of reading about it and it's not going to happen. You will be here working or you can look elsewhere. So just stop."

  • pre-Pandemic direction from a Market Exec.

How's that for VOC perspective?

if you're vaccinated, then share your status and you wont have to be segregated from everyone else. If you're unvaccinated then good luck to you.

I can't believe they will be segregating the vaccinated from the unvaccinated. This is absolutely a disgrace and this starts from that jerk we have as a CEO. He needs to step down because his role in handling of this situation is horrible. We need to continue the WFH until we get a handle on this . The other banks are following this model and this has been productive . What is the bank trying to prove?

Anyone else get the email that says if you are not vaccinated you will be put in a whole other area of the bank away from those that are vaccinated? I thought we were better together?! Now you are going to bring people back segregate them, mandate covid testing twice a week and etc. NICE job there. Way to threaten people and basically say you don't support everyone's beliefs.

The bank will surely lose talent. No question about it. Not to mention they won’t be competitive in recruiting new talent as so many companies are offering at least hybrid WFH. That’s the new normal. BOA will suffer eventually, unless they change their stance.

I mean, one of the company's mottos is 'deliver for the shareholders'. How bleak. There's nothing about enriching the lives of the people who make the company thrive. I have no idea why we have monthly town halls about how great we're doing when they won't profit share or even let us work from home. Am I supposed to just be excited that we're raking in billions every quarter? Given that they won't let us continue WFH, I think it's appalling that they're not paying us additional for the use of our internet, phone, electricity, and space usage. It's all give and no take. If they let us WFH then I wouldn't care about those things

Usual quiet teammates were vocal about "Return to Office" wondering how many will actually leave the bank because "better the devil you know than the devil you don't". No doubt employee moral will be low for some time.
