Internal Job Application

I must have 10+ applications all "under review" status that are a month+ old. Is there anyone looking into the applications? WTF?

What's everyone's experience when it comes to applying internally?

Had an hour long interview and discussed next steps about meeting the supervisors and leadership of the team and arranging the next interview. Received a form letter HR rejection note two days later.

I interviewed for an internal role a couple of months ago. 3 rounds of interviews all with 3-5 people each time. Since then I have gotten no feedback and my application still says “under review”. Can’t get a response from a recruiter to save my life either. Horrible candidate experience and this company wonders why it can’t retain talent.

There are two jobs being advertising in my team. One is mine, the Manager, who is leaving the company, another is the Team Lead role, someone already left. The Team Leader requirements include 4 to 5 years work experience. The Manager requirements... 1 to 3 years experience.... No wonder this place is a mess.

I used to get emails about jobs that the firm said I was qualified for....1 and 2 grade levels below my job grade and would require relocating. I no longer get those emails.

I have gotten emails from BNY Mellon recruiters recently who apparently don’t even realize that I work for the bank???? & if I didn’t already I certainly would not apply knowing what I already know.

They didn’t even bother to reply to one of my applications. Not very professional.

It's all bull. I interviewed for positions and couldn't even get a response from the recruiter. They're all garbage. Blew me off as an internal candidate. Now I'm leaving for an external opportunity.

IMO, You have 8 applications too many. For the roles you think you’re really qualified, reach out to the recruiter and the hiring manager via email. This worked for me a few times there, but I recently left for a better external opportunity.

I am a a former exec and must have applied to over 50+ positions during my 10 yrs with the bank and never so much as got a call from HR to even explore why I would look to take more junior roles with less pay (I experimented)…whole system is rigged often with HR posting positions which have already been filled because they have to go through the motions…career advancement operates in reverse here

One job has been under review for two months. Another, I know for a fact they downgraded the role and hired an external candidate, but the automated rejection I got said the role had been canceled.

Same here. From what I can see on the org chart, exec's are only hiring their cronies from outside the bank. I don't think they even look at internal candidates that recruiting forwards for mgr review.

I have two sitting in review for about a month, as well.
They will probably repost the job and we can't reapply because it's still sitting in review .
Super frustrating.

Don't waste your time! Find another opportunity outside the organization!
