Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Is there anyone who changed their mind after leaving BofA?

It happened that I regretted leaving the company I used to work for and coming to BofA.
Now I want to get out of here and the stories of the people who left are mostly very positive.

Still, I find it hard to believe that no one really regretted leaving here and going to the company where they thought the situation is better only to learn that the situation there was even worse.

I left and came back twice. The first time, the bank salaries were way...way below where they should be. I tried to talk to my mgr about the situation and was told there was nothing he could do....and having been a manager since, he was right. Once you have a salary set, the increases are minimal. So I left, on his advise, doubled my salary, was gone 3 months and came back at that new doubled salary.
The second time, I was lured away by a contract position and quickly learned that I'm not a contractor...that's a whole different mind set.
I will be leaving again, but it will be to retire (soon). That said, this company has gone down hill significantly in the last 10-12 years. You should feel no loyalty, but you should also not burn a bridge.

I know of 2 ppl. that came back, with better pay and higher titles. They both initially got out and went to other financial institutions, got new skill sets and experience and came back. Just make sure you don't burn bridges going out and follow the two weeks notice.

Do your due diligence before jumping ship. Don't go to a company going through a merger. Perhaps it is just every company sucks, just the name is different.

I left because my manager fu---d me, I learned not to be a top performer at my new role because I'll just get stuck having to do more work. Set the work standard early on in your new roll and just mail it in. Turn it on/off when need be.

The longer you stay at BofA...the harder it is to get hired somewhere else. After 10 years only places that would hire where other shyte banks like wells.

Post ID: @3miv+1bYvR9bJ this company is a great mistress but not a good wife, be careful with your vows...or vowels. BAC is a great place to contract and make a quick buck in the sort run. This who.re will eat your soul in the long run...unless you have a prenup agreement or a golden parachute packed in your contract.

I am going to leave this slithole of a company. I had enough of the incompetent management of this company . This company is going backwards and i no longer want to be part of it. I have seen many colleagues leave over the years an not ONE regretted leaving. The whole process of getting thing is so asinine and seeing stupid and non English speaking mofos get promoted has push me to leave.

Let's be honest, anyone who has left the bank and is happy in their new company will not be frequenting these boards so this may not be the best forum to ask.

BOA is a great company to work for if you are white but not as great if you are black. There are opportunities and I have seen a few minorities get upper level positions but only a few. REAL DIVERSITY BEGINS A THE TOP OF ANY ORGANIZATION NOT AT THE BOTTOM. BOA inclusion bullslit they pull is just an illusion.

A bad day at my new company is 10x better than a good day at BAC. Miss the people but not the culture. And 100% wfh

Dude, if you like a regimented, compartmentalized environment, with limited opportunities to grow and stagnant technological advancement, then BofA is your place. Now, if you go to another financial institution, you'd probably get the same treatment, so getting out of here is just a exercise in futility. People who are truly looking for change and find a happy, or tolerable work medium, switch lanes into a different sector. Usury should be a deadly sin.
