Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Back to the office

Is any one else tired and not buying the company propaganda in Flagscape about how happy the sycophants are being back in the office? They are not changing my mind about going back into the building.

Considering almost no one in my department management team knows how to use Excel properly, comment made by @4vju+1byyEF5W seems accurate

The sad truth of the matter is that early on in the pandemic the bank collected data on employee performance from wfh vs in office employees. The wfh employees were crippled with technology issues that the bank either did not want to put the money into, or simply did not know how to address. The spreadsheets provided for tracking did not have a way to indicate that technology failures were the reason for poor performance, and were submitted back showing that in office employees were way more productive than the wfh employees. In truth, the opposite was true, coming from someone whose job it was to both collect this data, and determine likely or anticipated employee performance based on observation of their behavior. So, due to the biased spreadsheets, uppermanagement determined that wfh was wrecking productivity and therefore all employees must return to office regardless of safety or other considerations. There you have it folks.

So they're punishing the people that got vaccinated by "inviting" us back to work early, and punishing those that didn't get vaccinated by having them adhere to temperature check, mask, isolation, and swab protocols? All while they get to keep working from their penthouses? I'm sorry, how is this "exciting"?

Sad thing is, they don't care if we leave. We're just numbers. They'll hire kids with MS degrees at a fraction of what they're supposed to earn and kick loyal employees to the curb. Pretty sad.

You and me both. I'm unvaccinated so I'll be last in.

The place is a joke they pick and choose who they want to go into the office while they and their buddies work from home.

I literally CANNOT with those stupid testimonies alongside those pathetic pictures of people at the office together. Like are they trying to trick us into thinking we want to go back in? I don’t understand why a hybrid model can’t be done? I would say that the overwhelming majority of workers want flexibility and prefer working from home. If the bottom line is being met, then what is the issue? I honestly feel it’s the billionaires and big businesses that all got together and were like, yea we need these working stiffs to come in everyday, so they can buy gas, pay garage, buy lunch, pay tolls etc etc etc. it’s all about what makes them richer. I can go on and on, how cost of living has gone up 400% but we make like 1% more than we did the in the 50s (adjusted for inflation) but what’s the point? We make just enough and have just enough comfort here in the US that we don’t ever ask for more, it’s such a strange existence. It’s really a sick work culture we have in the US. There’s a funny meme, where a person in the UK goes on vacation and leaves an out of office saying he’s gone for the month for a family camping trip over the summer, while the person in the US says, I’m having kidney surgery but feel free to call me anytime, be back tomorrow. Anyway yea, it’s really infuriating.

if you don't buy into it and come into the office when called, then you'll be a target.
