Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

No wonder we are losing customers

I know our new overlord believes that everything can be automatized and we can function on just a few employees but that's simply not true. We are losing customers left and right because we are chronically understaffed and we can't do the most basic things. I was thinking this was only our issue but a comment in one of the posts made me see it's company-wide. Everything they said sounded exactly like my store. Mixed up orders, empty shelves, stuff waiting in the back... All of that could be solved by bringing more people in, but I guess I'm expecting too much.

Who cares anymore F this company they made tons of money during the peak of covid and can't give any of it back ti the people at store level producing it all. I encourage pacing your work at this point why try when the garbage at the top just gives fake praise that means nothing at the end of the day. If you feel any obligation to work hard just stop you mean nothing to them and they are sitting very comfortable where they are.

Unfortunately, I'd estimate half of all TM's just show up for a paycheck and do the bare minimum. This sucks especially hard when buyers, trainers, supervisors, and Team Leaders are included. The first thing regional says when we ask for more labor is get more productivity out of who you have, or get rid of them, but Whole Foods makes it so hard to do those things. Spent a couple years on getting a few bad eggs gone. Store/Regional TMSS is too lenient. Really sucked when the COVID points freeze stopped and everyone who should have pointed out got a free pass.

Just go in and collect your pay check don't invest any thought or effort just do the bare minimum. WFM doesn't care about anything accept making money the nonsense of nourishing the planet and TM is a joke. They just need to drop the act already siging into interview is a slap in the face with the you"re amazing flashing on the screen.

it is always interesting when an STL decides to grow a pair and starting hiring to suit "the business needs" vs amazons data monster labor budgets....are we here to make money or save money

My store was incredibly understaffed for years. Even before the pandemic and everyone taking advantage. It made sense. We weren't a huge sales store, but now we are at a point where we absolutely need more labor to make money/not hemorrhage lost sales & customers. Our new STL has fortunately agreed with us and has started hiring beyond what we are supposed to. Unfortunately that still doesn't bring us close to being functional.

the amazon overlord labor budgets during the covid debacle have been laughable and unworkable...hiring only seasonal labor while staff is out sick or on l.o.a and team member attrition(who remembers that gem from global labor guidance) is not a solution...and now we are here....who gets the "moving forward" lack of accountability award here???

Food Ho-e was cutting labor to insultingly ridiculous depths long before Amazon took over.
