Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

A path to self-destruction

Whole foods will be in a hurt of trouble this holiday season I hate to see the team members toughing it out hoping it turns around since they have way too many service hours since wfm and amazon rather loose long timers with experience so they can run business the way they want to but it’s own incompetence from regional and global will be it’s undoing . We just laugh at the field associates visits they are delusional and out of touch with reality all walk feed back is shared with the rest of the store and tl’s push to please them but they are all overworked and depressed due to staffing and staffing guidance.
Regional and global always advice their executives not to listen and push but that alone is what wfm needs to self destruct. The regional and global executives that stay is only because we don’t dr-g test and this is their only option but lack the skills.

My FA, is great. He knows we are unable to function without labor. He is advocating for more labor and we hired 6 TM's so far with more on the way. We are over labor budget by over 100 hours a week but still are just treading water. Obviously finance is going to have to change the staffing guidance or stores will literally have no TM's. They added a ton of extra busy work with OTS/Instock and our budgets decreased. We weren't even functional before OTS. Global and regional say hire to meet the needs of Instock but finance hasn't increased the labor budget so we just have to ignore it or we will fail every Instock KPI report until all leadership is written up and separated by no fault of their own. Every store is having the same issue. All the VP's Presidents and CEO's know exactly what is wrong and how to fix it. I know you have to appease shareholders and make profits but without people filling the shelves you can't make $. Our "never outs" are out of stock 90% of the time. It's not rocket science. Y'all should be ashamed. Said the same on the culture compass.

A good chunk of field associates have long been out of touch with reality. Ones who were actually store level within the past several years, is as rare as the dodo.
