Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Do we know the exact number?

What is the current percentage of attrition throughout the company? Is there any way to find out? I think it has at least doubled if not even tripled in the past year or so (if I remember correctly, it used to be around 7 percent.) People are resigning left and right and it only seems to be accelerating. I'm honestly shocked that nobody in the management is even attempting to slow down this exodus.

To answer the OP's question, there is a way for most people to see the attrition rate, at least of what the company calls "high performers." There is a monthly report that goes out to IT that is called the Risk Scorecard. It is published on Confluence as well. One of the ratings is the percentage of "high performers" who have left the company in the past month. If you can't find it, contact a buddy in Technology and have them find it for you. I know it exists because I validate one of the scores each month before it is published.

Because management had a year planned of exiting a large number of employees anyway. So a person is helping the company if they actually leave. Now they don’t have to pay you the severance package

Very easy- less people to RIF so less SUB pay.
They see this as a win, the sad part is a lot of good people have left.
