Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Toxic work environment

I have worked in several banks during my nearly three decades long career but I've never had to deal with the work environment that was as toxic as here. Not even at Wells Fargo, and that should tell you something. I've been here for three years and it feels more like ten. Take my advice, if you are going to transfer to another bank make sure to talk to as many people who already work there as you can. Otherwise, you'll end up thinking you are making a move for the better just to end up in a much worse situation.

Sat next to a team of devs, all from India, some appeared to have no clue what to do since their friends would come and sit at their desk and do their work for a while

I work in GBAM tech. My team is 90% Indian including the manager and his manager, only 3 people are not. We constantly get bullied and get a lot of work dumped on us. I hated every waking moment of going in. I feel like a minority in this team which is in NYC. It's pretty sad.

This is the absolute worst company I have ever been associated with in my life. How can they even contemplate bringing employees back with this deadly virus that is raging through the country? I have been working in a financial center and have seen many employees test positive for the virus and a few almost died. This CEO BM doesn't care about you risking your health and life by RTO. I am warning you do not RTO . You will get this virus and it is nothing to play with. This cheap azz company gave us a low amount for hazard pay for 2 months and took it away. It is not worth your life to return.

Been here 26 years. The environment wasn't always Toxic. That started in when BM took the CEO role and we began to focus mostly on investments rather than our historical banking products...and then the Lemanite invasion occurred (former Leman's folks) and things really got bad. Sadly, there is now no way to get back to a place that is less toxic. The culture is totally contaminated.

I find there is a lot of nepotism and favoritism in the tech departments. They hire friends and if you happen to not be one...well best of luck.

I had a very toxic manager who was clueless and he's an MD (pretty much DI prop). Made nearly 70% of the team quit in a year. He's still there...they cant touch him...you reap what you sow BOFA
