A Senior Manager in a meeting today said that we delivered less points promised to the business from the Technology side since the Pandemic and that returning to the office will bring that productivity back. True or False?

Haven't mngt said the bank double their profits during 2020 ? who helped them get those profits ?.. their assess or ours? ... we are expendable now. they dont care if we/our families get covid.
For every person who craves to be a social butterfly and misses their serendipitous water cooler conversations, you have 3 introverted workers who are happy to work without office distraction and who have seen their own results improve along with their job satisfaction. "We're an in-office company" is only about perceived loss of authority & control.
@hsx+1ccyJK9L apparently you just told on yourself. I'm sure you're the one who's not being productive while the rest of us still work our a@# off here at home and doing way better than having to hear all the chatter in the office.
So what metrics were used to measure productivity? Where is the comparison chart that shows the before and after?
I call BS
This is what I am talking about how these executives bullshlit the productivity numbers to get us to RTO. I told you before they don't give a fcuk about the employees. This company really is shlithole.
BOA is going to look pretty bad if we are one of the few companies to RTO in this pandemic. This will damage their reputation for years and prevent other talent from coming here for a career. I hope these stupid azz executives think about what they are doing.
What data is the manager's claim based on? I doubt any was provided, for the obvious reason.
Aren't story points all subjective based on individual scrum teams and their relative maturity level? Correlation is not causation.
in almost every tech team no one is sitting together. Infact people now take Chats/calls more seriously and make them frequently as opposed to before.
These meeting usually happened the same way as before (no one goes into conf rooms for big meetings). There is no change to this process at all...Productivity is up because people feel more accountable to be present while WFH!
In my area it is false to say we delivered less points and therefore has to be false that returning to the office would show any uptick. But beyond that, the approach they are taking for RTO will have the exact opposite impact. Folks will be so consumed with watching those around them for symptoms and watching the clock to get out in the shortest possible time, that productivity will decrease.
Speaking for my group, this has been our best year in a while for productivity & results - by a lot. I'm sure they're massaging numbers however they need to, to back their position for RTO.
Why the downvote. I don't believe it just wondering if it is in fact true or not?
