Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Anyone have an Aruba wi-fi device?

I assume since these operate the same way as the Fugio devices in office that they can then track our tags at home once we get them. Wouldn't be able to get much info, but still I plan on putting my tag in a Faraday bag once it arrives.

The Aruba tag only hits BNY Mellon WiFi connections. If it was going to track you anywhere else, it would have to automatically connect to WiFi everywhere you go. Don't you have a password for your home WiFi? Think about it. Why would they want to track you at home anyway? I agree all of this stuff is a little extreme but surely BNY Mellon has something better to do than watch me at home or outside of work.

@4fj So you'd rather leave the Aruba in your car so you can possibly be tracked to everyone you visit and everywhere you go rather than just leave it inside your home. I think BNYM already has your home address, ya know.

I've had one all summer and it stays in my car once I leave the office. I don't invite strangers into my home : )

I'd like to be out of this place and on the beach in Aruba.

I lost my Aruba in an Uber.

I received one too. Anyone who hasn’t been in office to pick theirs up has it sent to them . It’s only supposed to work when you’re in the building . It should connect automatically when you enter . You have to carry it at all times or they won’t let you in your building . Makes zero sense now when people have been in the building without one during the hardest hit periods . We can get d-mb stuff like this but not systems or equipment we need

I received the device as well. I don't have a difficult time logging in with the token so it seems pointless to me.

Guess I need to clarify, the company sent me and some other people an Aruba (Fugio) router as part of what they called a "test". My laptop automatically connects just like I was in the office, don't need to go through the extra steps and enter my token etc.

It's a WiFi device, so unless your home network is wide open, there's no way for it to connect, which it would need to do in order to track you.

I have one, they said it only works on the WiFi while in the building, not sure if it’s bu-----t or not but that’s what they said.
