I got cut in the Spring. Just got word from a friend that almost a third of my old department got laid off this morning (we reduced from over 50 people to less than 20 over the last 4-5 years).My immediate supervisor was already working 10+ hour days since I got cut. Instead of having a half dozen people working for him, he now has one. Guess the remaining employees in the whole department all have a meeting tomorrow. Can only imagine how that will go. : /

Depending on how long you are or were there the max sub-payment plan is 52 weeks. You can also collect unemployment while under the plan. Just make sure they know that it's a sub-payment plan package and not a severance package. If you say the latter they will not approve unemployment. You can apply online or by phone but online is best. You can also weekly certify unemployment online or by phone. Best of luck and consider yourself lucky to be out of the he-l ho-e.

I got notice between 9 - 9:30 am last January. One of the best days of my life. Consider yourself one of the lucky ones leaving that shitshow if a company.
