Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

BOFA Employee Engagement Survey Results

I got the email about the results of the employee engagement survey. It is the usual propaganda about how the bank rated so high in employee satisfaction and engagement.

And people were satisfied about how the bank has handled things in the last year.
Of course they don't address what people responded or commented on about RTO or any other complaints they had. So out of touch management can continue to justify its bad decisions.

Most associate I know doesn’t provide positive feedback but when result came out didn’t show as bad as it is, is it people not being honest? Or maybe bofa did some tricky things behind that scene, it’s hard to convince me that they do not have power to do so

The survey is joke because....

  • MGMT by survey is a ridiculous way to manage
  • There is frequently no consensus around what many of the questions even mean
  • MGMT takes no time to understand why the answers were what they were
  • Verbatims are dissected in an attempt to figure out who the author was (e.g. that sounds like Joe....or that is clearly Mary's writing style, etc) and then either ignored or retaliated.
  • The actions they do take are ludicrous. E.G. Folks are unclear about how to advance their career....so rather than more interactive mgmt, or mentoring, we get GT&O university. Yeah...go earn your badges to show how smart you are. All just insane.

The silly thing is that we only respond to the survey b/c our managers make us, then they brag about how many are "engaged" (i.e. participated).

Hey leaders - go thru the results of the past 5, 10, 20 years to fix the issues people have already complained about, instead of taking more of our precious time EVERY year (seriously??) to complete this stupid exercise in futility.

Why are they spending so much time on the clucking results?...the feelings about the bank have definitely plummeted since RTO announced. Watch after doing the survey for each of the last few years...no survey next year as negative views would increase by 300 to 400%..they know that we know they just don't care...spare me the d-mb call about survey results and calls with upper management bragging about how smooth their commute was and how they are getting free food and are so happy....

the only metric they brag about is HOW MANY PEOPLE RESPONDED TO THE SURVEY!
it doesnt matter about what the results are. It's a PR tool with a fixed result.
the free format comments field is not quantitative and does not get read.

"I BELIEVE ACTIONS WILL BE TAKEN AS A RESULT OF THIS SURVEY" that's a NO from me dawg

They probably do actually learn something from giving everyone an open-ended opportunity to vent. Of course it's also a PR tool of seemng to be listening and interested.

That’s because they gave us the survey BEFORE they announced the 9/9 return to office. Bastards lol

My Manager told me that every single comment she got was related to wanting to work from home on a hybrid basis which she "has no problem with" however She was told by upper management that we're returning 5 days and my manager warned we will lose people. I hope they change their tunes because I know half my team is actively looking. If they allow hybrid, most people will happily stay.

Literally the only thing I wrote on my survey was that we need to be hybrid and allow working from home. I know of three other colleagues who wrote the same. They couldn’t care less
