Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Recent Layoffs?

did people get laid off recently?
Who on this site got laid off? how many overall? what groups? did they get a sub?
some info about layoffs might be good on a site that is supposed to be about layoffs - not just complaints.

My entire group (6 people) is gone except manager. Probably 1/3 of floor also gone and many more to come, most of them are aware it’s coming. They are doing you a favor.

I got laid off on April 12th along with another person in my dept (in Pittsburgh). Two others laid off before me in January. 8/16 was rough on the remaining members of the department: my old team supervisor started the day with six employees. By 10 am, five of those employees were laid off. It would have been all six employees, but that employee was saved when the overseas employee she was training quit out of nowhere. Now she knows for sure she’ll be training her replacement. This once 50+ person dept is now down to only 12-13 people in only 5 years.

The bank doesn't determine unemployment laws. And states that deny people who are fired for protecting their bodies WILL be sued.

Changes I heard are 6 or 8 week max for supplemental pay regardless of years of service. Also, no supplemental pay OR unemployment if you refuse to be vaccinated.

Seems strange that we have 800 more employees than the first quarter according to https://www.bnymellon.com/content/dam/bnymellon/documents/pdf/investor-relations/financial-supplement-2q-2021.pdf.coredownload.pdf . Not sure if they need to hire more than 1 "low cost" person for each of us or if they're just still bringing in their cronies from GS, etc.

What are you hearing about the changes to the package? I heard that too, but for awhile and it has not changed.

People that were laid off got supplemental pay at 2 weeks per year of service. That is supposed to change in the future though. Drastic changes for the worst coming in the next few months regarding lay off packages.

Come on, bro/gal; if you read the posts dating back like the past 6 months, you will see info on layoff and salary grades on different posts. Don't be lazy, go dig through old posts.
