Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Stockholm syndrome?

At WFM, I had a lot of colleagues who were completely dissatisfied, but still didn’t do anything to leave. I understood to some extent because people think that nowhere is the grass much greener. And, in fact, it is. I haven’t made a drastic change, I’m doing a similar job at another company where it’s also not ideal, but in just a month since I’ve been here I have finally felt some relief. Yes, it is much better than at WFM. Long time sufferers at WFM should think about why is it so hard for them to leave that horrible place? My opinion is that most people there have impaired self-esteem and think they can’t do better, and of course they can and deserve better!

a lot of the younger people i work with know they wont be there for long. we do have older people that hate the place but they have no where to go outside of retail (sad imo)

there are a few oddballs that i honestly couldnt see doing anything else in the world, they for sure wont be leaving anytime soon lol. i feel like after graduation most of my store will turn over and new kids will come in but we shall see. i for sure am quitting before the holidays though , by the looks of things its going to be a nightmare lol. i dont think our newer kids are ready
