Does anyone have any details on why some of these applications are approved and some aren't? Is anyone getting any federal benefits for having your job moved to India?

Yes this exists, but its a very complicated process. Much more complicated than getting approved from regular unemployment. This isn't something that you can just apply for and get either approved or denied for it. There has to be an active petition on file with the department of labor that fully documents the BNYM jobs that were affected by foreign activity. The last I checked, the petition that I used expired. I used petition# TAW 10097 0094748. That petition expired on 5/22/2021. There has to be an active version of that petition in order for you to take advantage of TRA/TAA benefits. Good luck!!
Fortunately I was in one of the groups that was approved
Not at BNYM, but colleagues from a former company qualified under NAFTA when our manufacturing facility shifted production to Mexico. I'm by no means an expert, but I believe these programs are designed/approved more for manufacturing job losses rather than outsourcing services.
