Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Employer mandated vaccinations are hurting big business

Just look at what's going on with Southwest and American Airlines. Do you really think the disruptions are just because of weather and technical issues? Is BNYM really willing to risk millions of $$$ in business disruptions over a vaccine mandate?

  • Employer mandated vaccinations have nothing to do with public health
  • current vaccines do not prevent the spread of delta variant
  • current vaccines drop below the 50%effectiveness barrier within 5 months
  • vaccinated people may falsely believe that they are safer than the unvaccinated, and that they cannot spread covid once they have been vaccinated
  • vaccines do not deliver herd immunity
  • vaccine mandates are not founded on either data or logic

Its time to wake up and stand up against the fear mongering that's going on over the mandates. You have the power to make positive change that benefits both you and your career. You have the power to end the mandates.

Absolutely. You can almost hear the totalitarians chanting “Hey Hey, Ho Ho, Western Civ has got to go”. No longer any attempt to hide their agenda.

I'm likely to be terminated for not volunteering my personal medical information to my employer. It's not the place of the Federal government nor BNYM to force that decision onto employees while threatening their lively hood. The negative externalities just aren't there to warrant this authoritarian attitude. The vaccine is EXTREMELY effective and there are much improved therapeutics. BNYM asking you to commute the office now represents a more significant risk to your health if you're vaccinated. Those who are unvaccinated, I hope, understand and accept the personal risk they are taking but to each his own.

Those business who have no requirements/ weekly testing will be able to get top talent at a reasonable cost. The Federal mandate is clearly unconstitutional and will be struck down. Even those of you who agree with the mandate in this specific case must ask themselves.. Do I agree that in all cases (because now it will have become president that it is acceptable), the Federal Government and/or my employer should be able to mandate a medical decision to me? Think about that deeply while imagining the political party you disagree with is in power.

@OP It’s frightening to think that somehow, some way, we actually hired you.

Why is it always the same bundle of sticks mass downvoting all discussions about skepticism of a vaccine?

Keep trying to convince yourself the vaccine is bad. No wonder this firm is in the cr-per.

I agree with all your points. I believe this is all part of the worldwide "Build Back Better" agenda. 1st they have to burn down the old system. Things are going to get rough for all (vaxed and unvaxxed). The big banks are leading this effort so no don't expect anything rational. They have a completely different agenda. We will have to build our own systems outside of this dystopian world they are constructing. It can be done.

Good luck finding a job in banking… nearly any bank worth working for is going to require that you be vaccinated.
