Stop doing all the work

I see so many people complaining about their workload being unmanageable. In reality, you're the ones who are allowing it to happen. If you keep doing everything that's been added to your plate without complaining or changing something (like dropping something else you were doing because you don't have time to finish it) your manager will keep piling on. Why in the world would they stop? They have somebody who's willing to do whatever they throw their way and for all they know, they're happy to do it. Make it known just how unhappy you are and maybe things will change.

My manager is supporting us as we go through these pains of more work and less people. I don’t know how many times I’ve been thanked but it’s been a lot. I’m curious to see if it translates into my bonus. We do have permission finally (I think) to add a person. I’m not mad about the extra work right now. I can handle it. But my extra work maybe doesn’t look like someone else’s. I just wish they hadn’t thrown the RTO in on top. That has been difficult to take.

Not doing the work isn’t a good idea but if you honestly don’t feel that you can get ahead by going the extra mile then look for another role. In the meantime, just do the minimum to get by until you find something else that’s rewarding.

Logic check: More work = unhappy worker. "Solution" - unhappy worker stops working in protest of "too much work" = Unhappy unemployed worker.

University of Phoenix really paid off for you!
