Layoffs are too expensive. They are just going to start writing people up and giving them warnings. Belittle their performance and make them so miserable that they quit. That's the plan. Or else watch them carefully and fire them over any small infraction.

What store and what team?
Just say it, get it off your chest who cares if they delete your post. Expos their favoritism makes them feel uncomfortable I can assure you their boss's boss reads this and if it's valid they will look into it.

Get rid of the leadershit at HB Bella Terra location. They left their entire team out for the wolves yesterday. As a customer I’ve never seen something so sad.

Who cares if they hate the SSS the opinions they have mean nothing and they have tried to ki-l the roll multiple times. The cut SSI and made PT SSS then they brought SSS to FT. The teams can't keep up with tag maintenance as it is so having the SSS around is good provided they assist with it. You should all focus your hate on the real problems that are not at store level.

Lay out your knowledge/ evidence since you know so much facts about the SSS.

SSS’s are all lazy pieces of kr-p. They all need to be let go. I know for a fact.

I agree every time there's a post about layoffs there's a big hate parade for the SSS. All these people talking about how easy it is for the teams are doing are a joke.

If SSS is let go just rember all the free groceries you can get with all the mistakes the teams make and don't forget to place a call with weights and measures. SSS may not be super important but it does alleviate the burden on the teams with tag maintenance that they struggle with.

We DO have a robot coffee machine in our store. It replaced an entire team of Baristas that sat around on their phone all day.

The cuts never start at the top. Store level ALWAYS gets cut first. SSS is going away for sure. Store accountants, PBS/TMS, sign makers / graphic artists, all are gone and things kept right on rolling. The duties of the SSS are just as easy to reassign to the teams.

How did this turn into an sss bashing thread? All of the useless global positions that exist and you all think that the sss is who they’re looking at? Wow

Post ID: @bkcp+1dLsNAdz

where are those robot coffee "venue" baristas we were supposed to have by now???? they wanted to install coffee kiosk ordering systems and have robots that cost 40k make coffees to order with only maybe a team member overseer when there was a problem...robots will come...robots dont need breaks, overtime pay, schedule requests etc...the warehouses and stores if they could get the maps correct will have them to unload trucks eventually too...see those DARPA robots coming outta M.I.T....brave new world of our Ford......what they will save in labor WILL NOT result in prices going down..once consumers get used to a price gouge like gas prices they never really come down...yer america...

If you’re reading the sop for each department closely there is zero need for an a-s. They have nothing to do with the planogram. Any sss who is doing the extra work is just doing that for the teams to help. per sss sop and job duties, their job is very minimal and is currently built that way in order for the position to be eliminated or downsized. Even the Foko task are assigned to store leadership but somehow always get done by the sss/ssi.

The only wat SSSs could get cut is if planograms were followed and everyone else did their jobs correctly. Ask an SSS to show you scan audit reports for your region. There are thousands of pricing errors that they catch. I could walk in any store and find a missing or wrong price in a couple minutes.

You smoke crack. The Honeywells aren't perfect by any means but they are insanely more functional than the walkabouts that were still using windows mobile in 2020, an operating system that hadn't been updated since 2010.

Honeywells are about half the cost are faster, scan more accurately and from any angle they are smaller and lighter and are able to be updated.

Like the Honeywells? Those overpriced scanners are just as glitchy as the old workabout4s.

The robots cost $35k. That is less than a $26/hr SSS makes a year. These robots last years they are not high maintenance. Say it lasts 5 years or so. Pays for itself.

and that is why within a year or two you will be replaced by a robot the technology is improving.

According to my TMS, the cap was at 24.50 but that was about a year ago. I don't recall them raising the cap since then... Anyone know the cap for that?

I don't understand where all you people think that SSS make tons of money. Their cap is less than 25 . The ones that are making over $20 have been there for ages. A good chunk are barely make over what a standard cashier is making.

SSI\SSS has been flipped flopped to PT\FT they can't decide on what they are doing per the usual. The human element is the problem with using robots. The planograms are never correct the employees put the wrong tags and products up consistently. How is the robot going to distinguish a product if it can't scan the bar code and even if they have it know the packaging it's looking for they changes frequently and the pictures never get updated on the Amazon shoppers phones. Plus I forget the SSS make so much money that it's putting the stores into the poor house. The teams struggle already with tag maintenance and an outside company would do a poor job anyway they use to have an outside company do inventory and they didn't cut it. Why don't you all focus on the real problem which is the people at the top not the people at store level.

The robots were already tried in some stores for Amazon out of stock and they made too many mistakes and were removed. they have tms doing it, I doubt it be any different for the audits. Plus the cost of the robots and maintenance it be cheaper to have a tm do it.

They temporarily stopped audits. They have resumed. The SSS duties have already been replaced by robots in competitors stores. They look like tall roombas with a face. They will replace SSS. They scan tags for price accuracy, check if something is empty or in the wrong spot and alert TM's to fix the problem. If this was pre Amazon wholefoods I wouldn't worry because we were so far behind the times tech wise. I started in 2008 and we were still using MSDOS to print tags. Now that Amazon is here tech will probably come faster.

If they get rid of SSS who is going to make sure the teams are not putting up whatever they want? Who will audit? They already stopped sales changeover audits a year ago.

SSS will be gone within the year. 3rd party companies will be brought in to do all auditing. There are many companies out there that do it now. Way cheaper than paying benefits and higher SSS salary. Get ready. Will happen soon be prepared.

It looks like the SSS is taking on more tasks that were previously ASTLs, along with the sign makers duties a few years ago.they still do the audits ( no one else will do it, let's be real) I am skeptical on that. It looks like they might trim the ASTLs, who make way more than the SSS and the SSS already taking on store walks, foko etc. not like the SSS make much more than the standard cashiers.however some TLs and ASTLs make double that.

I concur. It's a good time to hang around because I just got a peek at the rebranded WFM logo that's rolling out in 2022. It will raise moral instantly and has been a long time coming! Thank you dog!

It's gonna be a RED SICKLE AND HAMMER with either "Gather" or "Love" or "Insist" ....something inspiring that a nanny would say... emblazoned on it with pride! We did it!

RE: SSS TM.

There is no for sure proof for any of these statements, including the phasing out of SSS. Not that i have seen anyway. However, like the poster said, things that are talked about for a while have a tendancy to happen. They have been talking about taking a look at the SSS position for years now. I wouldnt quit based off of any of the speculation found here.

That said, there are plenty of other reasons to quit.

Wish, they would layoff all these A/STL's vets that taint all this new blood with stupidity... it's a waste of good, hard-working, potential down the drain. Especially this last round that I've seen walk through the door... They know it's all stupidity coming out of their mouth but yet they follow in footsteps because of seniority. Sorry but I have to call BS on this.

I predict that all of the toadies who have zero qualifications but took corporate on-ramps over everyone at the store level to work for their besties at global and regional at manufactured "jobs" will all go back to selling Tupperware having completed their work by making Whole Foods the world's most unprofessional company.

I just hope other companies learn what happens when the Cult of Personality is allowed to overrun a company and empowers those on the very bottom of the business heirarchy to pretend they are qualified just because they are foodies! Oh Yeah! to the tune of going out of business...again. Socialism fails in this country even if you try the old bait and switch by calling it Conscious Capitalism in error. I don't know anyone who's falls for this company anymore. Sad. Lots of tinfoil hats too! :) And I should know living in San Franfrisco

"all you have to do is pretend you are with the new programs and you are good..." no truer words have been uttered....having worked on mackeys farm for 20 years i can say ive seen many a program come and go....so many are hyped in the echo chamber of regional "leadership"...only to as we know "sh-t rolls down hill" to store "leadership" to be followed by bootlickers....only for said program to fizzle out over time....i think the programs they blow the most money upon with consultant fees and training sessions they try to maintain in some form like OTS...seen em come and ive seen em go....how much did they blow on the whole good organics program and lobbying fees with margaret wittenbergs trips to congress????

To the poster a few down. What’s the likely hood and evidence you have in regards to the SSS position? I have been an sss since just after the original layoffs and was lucky enough to go from part time to full time. Should I start looking for new positions? I would like to be prepared in the event this happens.
