Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Stop Saying I Signed Up To Work From An Office

I didn't. I was hired, and I agreed, to fill a position with the bank. Ever see the bank close a campus and move the associates to a different campus? Surely you pro RTO's weren't saying "you cant do that because we signed up to work from xyz campus".

Work is an activity, not a location. As the world evolves, that may very well mean the location of my work changes, yet the activity of my work remains the same.

and they need to justify lots of layers of management jobs. WFH negates a lot of their purpose....walking around the office and such

Love this conversation.....I totally think all the folks who signed up to work in the Brea call center should just show up at that location forever because that is where the signed up to work....the bank is not allowed to close that center, as it apparently breaks a contract. Also @dgr+1du0kyIy, actually no... I did not post for and accept a job with work from office requirements. When I took the job I was My Work and there was no requirement to do anything other than that.

From the perspective of an HR person like yourself, what would qualify as a large purchase? A $400 TV? Starbucks? A hand job?

You posted for and accepted a position that had a requirement to work from the office. Therein, you signed up to work from an office. It's really not that complicated...

Thank you. This isn't rocket science other than to execs that need to justify real estate leases.
