I don’t ever remember getting the notice to complete the self assessment in December. Good tidings perhaps or more attempts to push people to go with a negative review?

Didn't get a notice but it's in your HR connect to complete. But doesn't matter much what you put, pay increased are determined way before you complete your assessment, as it's not really based on your performance.
Year end reviews have no standing on if you get an increase or not. Your pay depends on the D&I and make sure enough pay increases are given to satisfy that. You don’t even have to do your job and still get a pay increase.
Do what I do, type - BAU in the comments, rate meets / meets, push submit and be done with the stupid thing.
So how would you rate yourself? Exceeds?
