Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

RTO is becoming the biggest problem here it seems

Learned helplessness is a pretty serious thing. People just complain and complain and it becomes annoying to listen to. I understand all the complains concerning other things. I have a lot of them too, but RTO is not one of them. Suddenly everyone is acting like they’ve never worked in an office before. It's as if there are no other, more serious issues than the RTO?

That’s so nice that you don’t have any qualms with RTO, why should we care about that?

The majority DO NOT want to RTO. This is not confined to us at bofa, this is everyone who is able to do their jobs at home without commuting.

The fact that we have some people, such as yourself, who need to come on a board where everyone is anonymously discussing their workplace, to then complain about thr complaining is beyond meta.

Learned helplessness is accepting the status quo and pretending that the last two years didn’t happen. 4.5 million Americans quit in November, there is a reason for that, and the reason is employers aren’t paying enough and aren’t taking into account their employees’ well being.

Get with the times man, or get rolled over.

Not one single company in history has succeeded by refusing to adapt. People who can't see that forcing remote-capable people to work in an office during the worst pandemic of our lifetimes is a bad omen for future decision-making confidence here. Stop calling people lazy or whiners and realize that the company has succeeded over the past two years despite you, not because of you.

The problem is not working in the office, the problem is being put into a position to be forced into an unsafe and unhealthy work environment. This is not 2018. Forget if you have covid or not, hospitals have reduced ability to treat emergencies right now. You get into a car accident or have a stroke? Good luck, your local hospital has all beds taken and not enough staff. You are right, employees are not helpless and the ones that are good have started interviewing or have already left.
