Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Are they trying to stop anyone from leaving?

Or on the contrary, are they trying to remove every dilemma whether to stay a little longer or leave?
I haven't noticed that bofa is doing anything to keep the talents. It's hard for me to believe that such an exodus is not worrying them and that they are just letting people go. Mostly the best people.

The talent exodus must be costing the bank hundreds of millions in future losses. I do not understand what is going on with the senior management team.

It's not a democracy. There is no management by consensus, let alone logic and reason.
The average employee has little to no input on decision-making that impacts their daily job duties - or future.

The attempts to retain talent are laughable. To be honest I wouldn't have considered sticking around even if their retention counter-offer was competitive (it wasn't). Never accept a counter-offer. Take the new job.

I wonder who sold the top of the house on this RTO plan. It is coming from the top and managers are not empowered to do anything. They seem scared and just repeat the same corporate line over and over. We Are A Work From Office Company. I truly think they must want us to leave. I'm a top performer and my manager can offer nothing except begging.

Our team is dwindling down, down, down. My manager is impacted right along with the rest of us. We’ve had Many re-orgs also. We don’t even remember who we roll up to at this point. My manager is an SVP and knows little if anything more than we know. We are all in it together.

I have a good manager and honestly based on the options she has been given, she basically told me the options right now are you either take it or leave it. Instructions come from way up, immediate managers have little input in what is happening. I don't think corporate is trying to keep the morale up in any way.

The direct managers have to be scared, but their hands are tied. They do not have the authority to provide large merit increases or bonuses to retain their talented teams. They will be the ones directly impacted when their highest performers leave them high and dry.
