Retirement under rule of 60

I want to quit and take another job and realized that I can retire under the rule of 60 mag Nostradamus of technically quitting. Is there a specific notice period to retire? I was thinking to give two weeks notice.

I retired under the “Rule of 60” in 2021, and you will start by typing a letter to your manager and applying for retirement through the global HR outsourced to another country during the recession of 2009 when BOA took taxpayer funds to stay afloat by outsourcing our jobs. Oh sorry went off on a tangent, during 2021 I decided BOA as a company after 20+ years was not in my best interest but rather than quitting, I retired. The benefit under the “Rule of 60” is you get the option of keeping your health insurance but naturally it’s ridiculously expensive. Wishing you much success as you move on. I’m in my 40s and found a place outside of corporate America which was my work home for far too many years. Now as an employee of a small business, I also do not have to worry about the jab making or breaking my career. No job is worth being forced to put an experimental vaccine into your arm without someone guaranteeing payment for all medical adverse reactions. Good luck!

i stand corrected. notice does say two weeks. usually for management level it's best practice to give at least a month's notice. I'm looking forward to my day, but that's a few years away. sigh....

How did auto-complete come up with "mag Nostradamus"?

I'd rather get laid off at this point in my career. 20+ years, 3 weeks a year capped at 78 weeks, plus vesting of all granted unvested stock options and then unemployment when severance ends.

I don’t think you get anything unless you have a pension from days past.

What are the benefits of this rule? If any?

If you retire you don’t get there same package as if you were laid off. 2 weeks for each year under 20 years. 3 weeks per year if you’re there over 20.

If you are eligible for the rule of 60, there's a special form to fill out. Search it on the homepage.
