Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Do you take reviews seriously?

That is, are you satisfied with your review? It is interesting to me that when I worked minimum, my review was excellent. Now that I was giving my best, I got a bad review. I’m a little worried because I’ve never received such a review. Should I expect to lose my job soon?

I ask a question, not even a "loaded" question. Wasn't seeking anything more than "How long was your review scheduled for?" Pretty neutral question that is virtually impossible to argue with. Didn't force anyone to answer.

So what kind of ar-e gives a negative vote to a question like that? No need for anyone to answer. I'd hate to trigger anyone into a negative rank.

I'll venture a guess that this post will get a negative mark as well.

I wouldn't worry about losing job as well. With almost zero hike and stock options , low bonus and 7% inflation, you should br underpaid compared to last few years. Job Market is super hot right now

My review usually lasts about 15 minutes

Inflation is 7% this year. If they’re not offering you, at minimum, a 7% raise then you’re getting a pay cut.

A does not meet should never be a surprise. If you received DNM yet there was never any issues during any one on ones all year get all your documentation together and escalate to your managers manager or HR.

Question for all...

How much time was schedule for your review?

I really want to believe that reviews account for something, but my optimism is reduced every six months. For the past 4 years I've asked questions specific to what I wrote in the review. Sadly, it's obvious that my manager did not read anything that I've written.

DNM- look for another job. They may or may not be trying to work you out but they F’d you over doing it at year end. No bonus. No raise. If it’s M/M then I would just take more time looking for the right job.

A percentage of the team must be DNM. In the same vein, only a certain percent can be Exceeds. I wouldn’t worry too much. Maybe it was just your turn.

Reviews are a joke. That said a bad review could be reason for cutting an employee during layoffs. I wouldn’t worry too much but would also start thinking about moving.

It’s so funny. My Manager said she would have given me Exceeds/Exceeds but because of “”metrics”” I received Meets/Meets. Then she said, just know tho - it is “the highest Meets/Meets” there is. Just words to me. It is still m/m and her words mean nothing. Average review, below average pay and raise. Another year, another 25-cents. But hey, I have a job with decent insurance, so I’ve got that going for me. LOL….

Reviews are a joke. My manager did his dance about why he didn’t give me the highest rating. Knowing already what he was going to say. Someone that does half their job and is a D&I or a white make that does a lot of volunteer work will get the highest rating.

Reviews are a joke. BofA, like almost all employers, are begging for employees. BofA has so many open positions. Employees are in the driver's seat. You won't lose your job. Just keep doing the best you can.

When you say you received a bad review was your overall rating still meets/meets or did you receive a does not meet? If you received a meets/meets your fine. If it was a does not meet you are on track to be fired because of performance issues. Receiving a does not meet means you do not receive a merit increase or bonus. Additionally you are not allowed to post for other open positions.

Oh my gosh that’s horrible. Talk to your manager and explain you tried your best. Commit to changing the managers mind this year. I don’t think you need to worry about losing your job. Don’t worry.

I wouldn't worry about losing your job soon. This shlithole is having a tough time getting mutherfockers to come to work . Furthermore, they can't find mofos to work here or even stay long enough to continue working here.
