I see customers stealing all the time. Many of them don't even try to hide it anymore. I honestly don't care, but even if I did what can I do about it? By the time you get ahold of someone in leadership (who are usually hiding out in the office), the perpetrator is long gone.

Whole Foods has to lose A LOT of money to customer theft! Blows my mind! Before taking away benefits for PT team members, they should've cracked down on the theft.

Theft in my store has to be one of the highest in the region and we don't even have self checkout. We don't find that many open containers hiding because the thieves are just super blatant and walk out with the product. Sometimes when they get caught they barter like "Imma put this six pack of beer back but I'm keeping this Wh----y and waffles."

interesting to note that they are more concerned with monitoring how employees throw away trash to control theft yet how much customer theft occurs daily at the self checkout registers??? and theft of prepared food and juices??? how often do grocery team members find empty food containers hidden in the aisles??? empty juice bottles hidden behind the olive oil bottles???

so i didnt read the article but i will say this. If a company is NOT GOOD at the following:

  1. selling products efficiently
  2. reducing waste
  3. making sure employees are productive
  4. efficient stream lined structure for the employees/company to operate in

WF isnt good at any of those things. Not even close. I never worked grocery but everyday the amount of colossal waste at my store alone blows my mind. they pay people who DONT WORK, they have EMPTY SHELVES while product rots away in the back, MULTIPLE LEADERSHIP POSITIONS and they are all equally useless, a terribly trained customer base (refunds always allowed, they yell at employees with the managers blessing ,etc : they are trained to sht on you) .... ETC ETC

there is NO WAY in my mind that this company will survive as it is. I dont even know what its doing right now but i feel like its just a raft taking on water until amazon comes in and changes everything
