I know of several people who were subject to extreme stress and mental health issues here. I don’t know whether they “Lawyered up” but their complaints were legitimately due to extreme stress and unbelievable pressure to deliver far more than was humanly possible. Most clueless slackers really have no idea how much pressure can be applied to an SME a few cubicles over who is under the g-n and cares about his work.

Think about all of the lawyers at the firm. Head of HR is an attorney, she told us so early on. We prepared for this.

You would be better off going on short term disability leave. This would require documentation from a physician or psychiatrist, but it would get you some time away from the environment that is making you ill. And, if you feel up to it, you could use that time to plan a permanent exit strategy or even start looking for a different job.

A lot of these employment type cases are settled out of Court to avoid public attention and potential class action suits.
