Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

We all need a long vacation

After the year we've had, every single one of us needs at least a few weeks off to recuperate and recharge our batteries - and BofA should pay for it! This year was brutal for so many reasons and I feel more exhausted right now than I have in a long time. How long can we go on under these conditions and this kind of pressure before we break?

"Vacation" does not exist for our group. On top of working nonstop 6-7 days a week for the past 2+ years, we're still expected to check email (and respond!!) while on "vacation". Even over the holidays. This is not due to pandemic. It's how it's always been in our group. Just even longer hours and even more pressure during pandemic. I don't understand why only some divisions get sabbatical and not everyone.

I think what the OP is saying and I agree is that a sabbatical is needed to recover. I have taken vacation but still recovering from the past year and a half. I do not think this is only at the bank, but in affecting other industries as well.

I do not understand the OP. Do you not receive paid vacation? Schedule a week or so with your manager and off you go.

My boss gave me a bad review. I’m looking for another job.

Did you work on PPP? Had a few buddies who worked that. Those resources deserve hazard pay for working day and night for months. One person had a heart attack.

I’m close to breaking tbh. The amount of pressure I’m under doesn’t line up with how little I’m paid. The issue is also compounded because I’m going through multiple health issues and need health insurance. Also having to constantly worry about Covid while at work doesn’t make sense and is needless since we can all work from home.
