Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

I can’t take it anymore

My discontent at and with BNYM has turned into hatred and resentment. I’ve been looking for a new job for almost two months. I’ve been on 6-7 interviews but I’ve either turned them down or not heard back yet. Every day is worse and worse here. My team will collapse when I leave since I’ll be the 4th person to do so in a short period. That brings me joy and more strength. I hate BNYM. I HATE it. I never want to look back or think about my time here again. God, please help me get away from this nightmare. Sooner, sooner, sooner than later.

Morale is at an all-time low and we literally lost half our staff in a year (24-12=12). Todd and company can literally afford to espouse wonderful mission statements and so forth: they are making a massive amount of money!

People leave all the time. BNY has survived 240+ years and I am sure won't collapse when you leave. Get over yourself

I was absolutely miserable at that place and that was over 3 years ago. I imagine it's only gotten worse.

Keep sending that resume and jump at the first thing that pays what you need. You'll be amazed at how much happier you'll be anywhere, doing _anything_, besides working at BNY.

they are making it so hard for us to hire nee people they literally stall at every step of the way to make sure we dont hire people and not use any of the budget. it's sickening and everyone quits due to the heavier workload of 2-3 ppl. get ready for an internal wave of resignations if these bonuses end up sucking major azz

I totally know where you're comin' from, buddy...I left last month. I wanted to stick it out and not leave until later this year, but the aggravation and increased workload got to be too much to endure so I gave notice right after my end of the year vacation. I have enough in savings that I don't really have to worry about an extended job search for at least a year, and whatever I get I KNOW it can't be worse than the he-l I just left behind at BNYM.
