Does anyone know if order writers can participate in inventory.
I heard no.

It has always been a requirement for buyers to do inventory at my store and you are not allowed to request any time off if it is falls on an inventory shift. They make that pretty clear to anybody interested in a buyer position.I wouldn't be surprised if it is going against some kind of company mandate, leadership at the store I work at pay little attention to the rules.

Anyone who has receiving privileges, including grocery TMs who close POs at night, isn't supposed to do inventory, but that's never stopped the abusers at my store from scheduling them for inventory.

There is no rule saying buyers cannot work inventory but they also need to be there for their order windows so sometimes they can't work inventory or if they can they'd have to stay extra late and write the order after inventory since orders can't start until after 2 a.m.
