Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Dishonest and deceitful management

They say one thing and do another. Or they set all these rules but they never bother to follow them. "Do as I say, not as I do" is the main motto here, or so it seems. I've never worked at a place where I could trust management less. With people like that in charge, no wonder this place is sinking more and more each day.

Yeah I worked extreme overtime as well, left and no bonus. I’m done… cut all ties to BONY and gave up $175 worth of belongings..

I now associate only with ethical people. Life is too short to deal with BNYM NYC toxicity. Im quite sure that I will be begged to help. If not… good luck and I’m glad that someone stepped up… unlikely. Otherwise… pay up and let’s talk hourly rates.

I wouldn’t mind returning to BNYM to crank on GF but I’d want to be $150 hourly. Anyone who would settle for less has issues… and yes they won’t make that.

You are just figuring this out.
Sorry but not a news flash.

Do as little as you can. Why ask for more work which means taken time from your life outside of work, when you will not be compensated for it?

Never volunteer to work OT, or worse involve yourself with a so-called "special project". The reason they need "volunteers" is because of their own gross mismanagement. Why help the higher-ups slap a bandaid on a problem they in part created?....especially when management is never transparent about the ask, duration, etc. They pull you in, pat you on the back, but then disappear when sh*! gets real... And in the end for what? A few scraps, or best case scenario a level up promotion with an extra 10k in salary... That will come with twice the responsibility and some direct reports that you had no part in hiring and only serves to cause you more headaches. Good Day, Sir.

That’s Greenfield in a nutshell.

Yeah, I was promised compensation for working extreme overtime to migrate our systems to GF after they laid off our team leader and heard nothing once the project was complete. When I asked about it they gave me WOW awards that were good for about $200 of gift cards. In their defense, $1.50 per hour IS compensation though.
