Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Pgh Campus

So they are pushing this RTO and giving some garbage Edge card to support downtown businesses acting like it is some great benefit to us.
The current 'benefit' is taking the card to some business and get a free coffee or after work free drink. But.... but... what if there is unvax'd at this Restaurante?
Just more of the illogical nonsense. It's too unsafe to be around the unvax'd in the office, but not at this cafe.
Further, just a month ago it was unsafe to be at work, but a month later, they are pushing being around strangers drinking.....

Covid and covid policy oddities.

It was total incompetence for the bank but for Bob Kelly it was a well played personal financial windfall. He was fresh out of destroying Wachovia, looking for a job and he realized that Mellon had been decimated under McGuinn. In his first month town hall he was fielding M&A questions and announced that there would be bigger deals than we would expect. He saw the sweet spot and made his personal fortune.

BONYs initial takeover attempt was $24 billion in 1998.
In 2006 the AGREED takeover bid was 17 billion.
7 billions less than the original bid.
Let's talk about incompetent.

It’s only strange if you’re totally unaware of the 1998 BONY hostile takeover attempt of Mellon which Frank Cahouet successfully fought off. Bob Kelley saw the opportunity after that, sleazed his way into Mellon to facilitate the takeover and run BNMY. It was all handed over to Gerald in under two years and the incompetence and destruction was complete.

Please put us all out of misery.

Strange that someone thinks NY and NJ managers were incompetent, cut-throat derelicts.
Was it BONY or MEL that hired B0b K in 2006 as their CEO?
Now lets talk about incompetent.

The band of managers that came in from New York and New Jersey to take over the group I was in were the most incompetent, cut-throat derelicts I’ve ever come across in my entire working career. My opinion of people from that region dropped precipitously.

BONY intentionally completely destroyed & systematically decimated Pittsburgh.

Honestly, nobody in Pittsburgh gives a R@ts@ss what BONY does next. We’ve been displaced and devalued for so long that nobody even gives it a second thought.

Congratulations BONY… you’ve destroyed all business and goodwill from your acquisition and you’ will never approach your pre-merger stock valuation again. You threw away everything that you purchased to crony capitalism with NYC empty suit nimrods.

Pittsburgh views you just as Ukraine views Russia, outside of the fact that you aren’t using physical weapons.

Your psychological weapons are far worse.and none of us will ever deal with you again. What a sad checkered history you’ve had for the past 14 years.

Meet me at the wrecking ball, wrecking ball…

I kind of feel bad for the Pittsburgh engagement team, they were dealt a bad hand. That building is such a huge pile; the company did nothing in that building for two years. It's like walking into 1980 in that building, no wonder people aren't excited to be there.

Did you get your free water bottle yet??

I think we all already have enough bottles at home, I think the cost of the water bottles would be better spent in the share holders pockets

buying all these Unnecessary water bottles isn’t very green of them either …

I thought about attending even though I'm un-vaxxed....but the free drink isn't worth going downtown for.
